Scott Rankin
National Managing Principal, Strategy & Transformation
Scott Rankin serves as National Managing Principal, Advisory Strategy & Transformation at KPMG in the U.S. In this role, Scott will lead the development and execution of KPMG’s strategy, focusing on bringing the best of the firm to every client. He works directly with senior leadership on strategic growth, M&A and operational transformation.
He most recently served as Advisory Line of Business Leader for Products, where he was responsible for leading multiple sectors, including consumer goods, retail, industrial manufacturing, life sciences, and energy. Prior to that, he served as Global Head of Strategy and U.S. Strategy Leader, in addition to holding leadership roles including Performance, Diligence and Transformation Network Leader and Consumer & Retail Advisory Leader.
Scott has more than 25 years of experience advising corporate and private equity clients on growth strategy, mergers and acquisitions, and enterprise transformation. He has deep expertise in both organic and inorganic transformation initiatives across business functions and industries. Earlier in his career, he held senior executive roles at a Fortune 150 retailer and a mobile commerce start-up, in addition to his work as a strategy and M&A consultant.
Scott has also been a leader in advancing the firm’s work in AI-enabled transformation, helping clients harness data-driven insights and emerging technologies to improve decision-making, enhance operational performance, and accelerate growth. He has supported the integration of AI into strategy and transformation programs, in alignment with the firm’s broader focus on embedding AI capabilities across services and client solutions.
Scott received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Finance from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MBA in Economics and Strategy from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Scott is based in Boston, MA.
