Senior Manager, Trade & Customs

Sarah Nelms, based in Charlotte, North Carolina, is a Senior Manager with the KPMG Trade & Customs practice and co-leader of the KPMG Domestic Content service line. She has 15 years of experience in the creation of compliant and efficient trade compliance solutions.

Prior to joining KPMG in 2020, Sarah was a Trade Compliance Manager for a multi-national industrial manufacture where she was responsible for the development and execution of optimized Free Trade Agreement and U.S. Domestic Preference Programs including Buy America initiatives.

Today, Sarah works with clients to strengthen trade compliance programs, identify tariff-saving opportunities, and develop compliant analytical methodologies for emerging domestic content regulations. Her clients span a wide range of industries, including renewable energy, industrial manufacturing, retail, automotive, defense, and chemicals.

Sarah holds a BS degree from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, an MBA degree from Viterbo University, and is a Licensed U.S. Customs Broker.
