Managing Director
Morgan McCormack Clingan is a Managing Director in KPMG’s State and Local Tax (SALT) practice and a leader within the firm's Indirect Tax Technology practice. With more than 14 years of experience, she leads KPMG’s OnDemand Indirect Tax Service and Use Tax Automated Calculation Service, helping organizations modernize and optimize their indirect tax functions. Morgan brings deep expertise in tax determination engines, automation technologies, and the integration of indirect tax solutions within complex enterprise environments.
Throughout her career, Morgan has led global indirect tax technology initiatives spanning requirements gathering, solution design, implementation, and post-deployment support. She has extensive experience configuring and optimizing tax engines to address complex business, tax, and system requirements; resolving technical and integration challenges; documenting tax policies, operational procedures, and governance frameworks; implementing exemption certificate management solutions; and designing custom analytics, reporting, and automation tools to enhance tax data visibility and decision-making.
Morgan works closely with clients to transform their indirect tax operations through technology-enabled solutions. She advises organizations on leveraging emerging technologies, including artificial intelligence, to improve efficiency, strengthen compliance, and reduce the administrative burden associated with indirect tax processes.
Morgan holds a Master of Accountancy (Tax Concentration) and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration, Accounting, both from the University of Tennessee. She is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a member of the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.
